Samford University faculty members Cynthia Frownfelter-Lohrke and Matt Mazzei have been named interim chairs of their respective departments in Brock School of Business. Lohrke will lead the Department of Accounting and Mazzei will lead the Entrepreneurship, Management and Marketing Department. 
 
Frownfelter-Lohrke has taught accounting at Samford for more than 20 years. She teaches Accounting Information Systems, Data Analytics for Accounting and Finance, and Accounting Concepts I. Her research has been published in many journals including the Journal of Information SystemsAdvances in Accounting Information SystemsThe Information Systems Control JournalThe CPA JournalJournal of Accounting EducationBusiness Horizons, and the Journal of Management Education. She is the former president of the Accounting Information Systems (AIS) Educator’s Association and is a member of the American Accounting Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
 
Mazzei joined the Brock School of Business faculty in 2013. In addition to his role as interim chair, he is the Brock Family Chair in Entrepreneurship and an associate professor of strategic management. Mazzei teaches a variety of management and entrepreneurship courses including topics on strategic management, corporate entrepreneurship/innovation management, project management, organizational change, and big data strategy. His research primarily focuses on corporate entrepreneurship, with secondary interests in new venture characteristics and big data analytics at the macro level. Mazzei’s work has been published in numerous scholarly journals, including Group & Organization ManagementInternational Entrepreneurship and Management JournalManagement Decision, and Business Horizons.
